Interference alignment for the MIMO interference channel

چکیده
We study vector space interference alignment for the MIMO interference channel with no time or frequency diversity. We prove both necessary and sufficient conditions for alignment. In particular, we characterize the feasibility of alignment for the symmetric three-user channel where all transmitters have M antennas and all receivers have N antennas, as well as feasibility of alignment for the fully symmetric (M = N ) channel with arbitrary number of users. An implication of our results is that the total degrees of freedom available in a K-user interference channel, using only spatial diversity from the multiple antennas, is at most 2. This is in sharp contrast to the K2 degrees of freedom shown to be possible by Cadambe and Jafar with arbitrary large time or frequency diversity. Moving beyond the question of feasibility, we additionally discuss computation of the number of solutions using Schubert calculus in cases where there are a finite number of solutions.

متن کاملInterference Alignment in MIMO Interference Channels using SDP Relaxation
Nowadays, providing higher data rate is a momentous goal for wireless communications systems. Interference is one of the important obstacles to reach this purpose. Interference alignment is a management technique that align interference from other transmitters in the least possible dimension subspace at each receiver and as a result, provide the remaining dimensions for free interference signal...
متن کاملEE360 project: Interference Alignment for MIMO interference channel using Imperfect CSI
Interference alignment is a novel technique introduced in [1] that allows for K/2 degrees of freedom in a K-user interference channel. A related work [2] proves the achievability of 4/3 degrees of freedom on the 2 user MIMO-X channel. However, the techniques require Channel State Information (CSI) at transmitter. In [3], it is shown that M(L− 1) log P bits of feedback broadcased by each Rx to a...
متن کاملSettling the feasibility of interference alignment for the MIMO interference channel: the symmetric square case
Determining the feasibility conditions for vector space interference alignment in the K-user MIMO interference channel with constant channel coefficients has attracted much recent attention yet remains unsolved. The main result of this paper is restricted to the symmetric square case where all transmitters and receivers have N antennas, and each user desires d transmit dimensions. We prove that...

Interference channels are useful analytical models for distributed wireless communication networks with multiple simultaneously transmitting users. The degrees-of-freedom optimal transmit strategy for interference channels is interference alignment, which requires substantial channel state knowledge throughout the network. As the network grows, the sum capacity, theoretically, increases linearl...
متن کاملA Weighted Optimization Interference Alignment Algorithm in the MIMO Interference Channel
In this paper, the problem of designing transmit and receive matrices is concerned in the constant MIMO interference channel. We introduce a weight in a distributed interference alignment algorithm which plays a role of adjusting interference from unintended transmitters. Then, we will further reduce the interference through “rotation” operation. The simulations show that the sum-rate of propos...
